The Most Common Mistakes People Make Applying the Law of Attraction, and How to Avoid Making Them Yourself.
Here are 3 of the most common mistakes that people make when trying to apply the Law of Attraction.
1. Keeping it strictly in their heads.
In other words, forgetting that the process may begin with a change in perception but it doesn't end there. The Law of Attraction does not only teach us that what we think about is what we attract or create, but that it is those thoughts we give our energy to most that determines what we attract or create.
Every thought comes with an emotion, and that emotion is energy. When we consistently think the same thoughts, we consistently feed that thought our energy, and it is this energy that draws our unique experiences of reality to us.
Positive thinking is the start of changing what you attract into your life, but along with those changes in thought must come changes in feeling too. You can't just tell yourself, "I deserve to be happy," for example. You have to convince yourself of it. You have to believe it. Only then will the thinking of those words carry with them the right vibrational frequency (or energy) to attract into your experience the happiness you deserve.
2. Impatience
If you've asked for it, it's coming. Have no doubt. If you haven't gotten it yet, that just means it's still coming. The energy of impatience implies that you don't really believe that what you asked for is coming, for if you truly believed it, you could relax and relish in its impending arrival.
Expecting your desires to be fulfilled on your time schedule, then behaving with frustration and disappointment when it doesn't, only knocks you out of alignment with the fulfillment of those desires. You actually keep yourself from having what you want be clinging to the fact that you don't have it yet.
This is where the humble art of Allowing comes in. To allow what's coming to you to arrive, you must be in a state of openness, acceptance, trust, and readiness to receive. Impatience is anathema to all of this.
3. Trying to do it yourself.
As you know, the Law of Attraction has three steps - Ask, Accept, Allow. Only the first and third steps are your responsibility. The second step is the responsibility of the Universe. By trying to take on step two yourself, you are in effect trying to do the Universe's job, getting in the way of the Universe doing it itself.
Thinking that you have to figure out how to get your desires fulfilled only gets in the way of them being fulfilled. The belief that to have something you want (or to get anything done or done right, as we hear so often) you have to do it all yourself displays a profound lack of trust in the very source that is trying its hardest to give it to you.
What happens to you if every time you try to do something for another person you come to find they've already gone and done it for themselves? You stop doing things for them. And that's exactly how the Universe responds to your foolish attempts to handle it all on your own.
